History[ edit ] This area was occupied for thousands of years by indigenous peoples, attracted to the advantageous site near the rivers. They used the waterways for transportation and trading, and to supply fish and water for their villages. Some colonial fur traders traveled the Arkansas and other rivers to trade with the native American tribes. Soon after, the government sent the Pike Expedition to explore the areas along the Arkansas River.
Click here to read a profile about Senior Exhibition by the Learning Policy Institute Senior Exhibition is a year-long research project that is a school graduation requirement and a major part of the Senior Humanities curriculum.
The project begins at the end of junior year when students choose topics and ends with a day in late March the spring semester devoted to presentations and the celebration of all of our seniors. Senior Exhibition is divided into two parts: The Paper Over the majority of their senior year, each student completes a 15 to 30 page paper focused on an Essential Question chosen by that student.
The Essential Question deals with a controversial and impactful issue in contemporary society.
The Senior Exhibition paper is divided into five smaller essays: Each essay has a specific purpose and is written separately before compiling them all together in the full paper. Students write each piece of the paper one at a time with help and feedback from their mentor and humanities teacher.
Students complete several rounds of revision and turn in comprehensive papers to their mentors three times throughout the year, the final time in February this is also the final opportunity to pass the paper.
The Presentation After completing the paper, seniors spend roughly six weeks creating presentations from their paper.You will use the worksheet to write a proposal essay about your idea and publish it in your Digital Portfolio.

SENIOR EXHIBITION ESSAY Radiology Technician I chose to job shadow a Radiology Technician for my Senior Exhibition Project. The medical field has always been of interest to me. After discussions with my aunt and uncle, who are both Radiology Technicians, I chose to research this particular area.!
